My mission is to make each event and marketing campaign a strategic initiative of your brand by creating a unique and lasting memory in the eyes of your clients, guests or customers.

As a creative leader, I am passionate about identifying the core event planning and event marketing needs of a business or non-profit so that both will align with their mission and vision. With fifteen plus years of experience managing high-end marketing initiatives and large-scale events for a diverse range of for-profit and non-profit organizations, I cultivate and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, while managing the logistical details and maintaining focus on the big picture.
While working for a small non-profit organization in North Carolina, I was tasked with planning an up and coming new conference. At that time, I had no idea how to plan a brand new conference, but I learned through the process and the conference was a huge success. It was a world-wind introduction to event planning, public relations and marketing…. and I loved every minute of it!
The non-profit community is where I established my roots in event planning and marketing. Fifteen years have passed and during this time I received my BA and Master’s in International Studies, with a focus on event planning and marketing. I also created and managed events and marketing efforts in the small business, association, non-profit, corporate and hospitality industries.
My family is rooted in the small business community, owning, running and providing services to this community for over 35 years. That’s what inspired me to start my own business in August 2005 under the name Spectacular Events & More, Inc. In November 2012, I expanded my services to include event marketing, event website creation, business marketing and event social media management. The company’s name was officially changed to JM Marketing & Events, Inc. to reflect the inclusion of these new services.
I feel one of the best ways to serve my clients is to continually educate myself on the latest innovations, trends and best practices. I received a Social Media Management Certificate from Martin Brossman & Associates and my Event Management Certification from George Washington University.
I truly believe in being part of your industry’s community. I’ve been a proud member of the Association Executives of North Carolina (AENC), the American Marketing Association (AMA) and the Triangle Chapter of the American Marketing Association (TAMA). From 2011 to 2013, I served as a volunteer member of the AENC Trade Show committee.
I also serve as a volunteer board member of Rescues4Rescues, an organization that saves, assists, educates and advocates on behalf of animals and people with disabilities. I raise funds, set up adoption and other fundraising events as well as develop print material and created the organization’s first website.
